About Rodney Nwamba
Rodney is a highly experienced facilitator and has many years of industry experience. He was a lead coach in the University of Pretoria’s (Enterprise) Executive Development Programme for Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Council in 2021-22. He provided coaching to Johannesburg Business Schools’ online MBA students in 2022-23. Rodney was a Programme Director for Kagiso Leadership School for 16 months. At KLS he was responsible for the management of inter alia, the NUM’s Effective Leader Programme, and SAMDI’s Presidential Strategic Leadership Development Programme – which focused on the development of functional capacity amongst senior government officials both at national and provincial levels. Rodney has been an independent HRD consultant for over twenty-seven years.
Through this consultancy, he engaged in several successful generic practical coaching and facilitation skills interventions in the following fields:
Rodney was involved in a successful Trainer Training and Coaching Programme for civil servants in the Democratic Republic of Congo – a NEPAD initiative – on behalf of SAMDI (PALAMA) (now The National School of Government) – as a facilitator initially and coaching evaluator later. He was one of Siyakhula Trust’s consultants assigned to audit Eskom Foundation-funded community development projects in the Free State in 2008. Rodney co-facilitated PALAM’s TOT Programme in South Sudan, Rwanda and Burundi as part of CIDA’s Regional Capacity Building initiative.
He also facilitated several of the NSG’s TOT programmes for SADC countries hosted in Pretoria. Rodney speaks the following South African languages:
Afrikaans, English, isiZulu, isiXhosa, Sepedi, Sesotho, Setswana, Tshivenda, Xitsonga. Rodney is a registered member of the South African Board of Personnel Practice as well as an accredited assessor. He obtained the Professional Post-Graduate Qualification: Company Secretarial and Governance Practice, NQF level 8 from FASSET. He also holds a Certificate in Research Methods for Economic and Management Students from the NWU.
