About Cor Faling - founding member
Cor Faling is the founder of Skills@Work and intimately involved in designing and developing course material, facilitation and learner assessment. Cor is a chartered governance professional (ACG), holds an MBA degree from the Wits Business School as well as an Advanced Executive Programme certificate from the SBL of UNISA.
He obtained the Professional Post-Graduate Qualification: Company Secretarial and Governance Practice, NQF level 8 from FASSET. He also holds a Certificate in Research Methods for Economic and Management Students from the NWU.
Before starting his own businesses Cor worked for a number of corporate organisations holding senior positions in the fields of accounting, administration, marketing and corporate planning. In 1979 he started Infokom (Pty) ltd, an advertising and public relations. In 1997 he
co-founded Mosedimosi Communications cc, initially servicing the marketing communication needs of the public sector. The firm soon identified a need for training of management and staff in administration and secretarial disciplines. The scope of training
programmes grew to the extent that the firm changed direction and changed to an accredited Services SETA training provider.
Mosedimosi changed its legal persona to a limited liability company and changed its name to Skills at Work Training (Pty) Ltd during 2020. He is the ideal person for training delegates in business, report, minutes and creative writing; customer service; talent and performance management; monitoring and evaluation; emotional intelligence; and more. He succeeds admirably to pass on his enthusiasm and
skills to his delegates. Cor does extensive research on each of his topics and skilfully transforms this information into resourceful training manuals.
Organisations for which Cor has been facilitating in South Africa include SARS, Umalusi, FASSET; several national and provincial government departments, local authorities, SOEs, and private sector businesses. Cor has also been training in Africa, i.e. Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Swaziland and Rwanda. In his free time, Cor is a dedicated runner with a green number for Comrades, a keen
photographer of wildlife, and a curious student of life – he remains up-to-date in the academic world, as well as with current trends in business and economics.
