Narrative Therapy and counselling
Marjón is a narrative therapist and who assist people with personal challenges and problem stories in their past and current lives. Her approach is to help deconstruct these problem stories and to assist people who are hurting to find alternative positive outcomes to focus on.
We are all the masters of our own stories, but we may need some help sometimes to find the good and hope in our own lives again.
What is Narrative Therapy?
Narrative therapy seeks to be a respectful, non-blaming approach to counselling which centres people as the experts in their own lives.
It views problems as separate from people and assumes people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will assist them to reduce the influence of problems in their lives (Dulwich centre definition).
Marjón uses a non-judgemental approach when listening and helping people construct winning outcomes. The process involves self-understanding and self-acceptance on the journey of recovery.
